Caroline + Matt: A Modern Love Affair

Working with Caroline and Matt on designing their event was a true pleasure! Their unique style and approach to design was a great inspiration for creating the fresh and modern color palette consisting of eggplant, vibrant purple, chartreuse, and bright white. The bridesmaids wore elegant aubergine floor-length dresses while the groomsmen sported black suits with white patent leather dress shoes and jade-colored ties. The photography by Joanna Kleine was stunning and truly reflected the fun and contemporary style of Caroline and Matt.

Although the couple resides in New York, they chose to have their celebration in downtown Saint Louis at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel. With the ceremony and reception incorporating many elements of the bride and groom’s Polish and Jewish traditions, it was exciting to transform the majestic ballroom into an elegant place of worship for the couple to say their “I do’s”. The seating circled the elevated satin and chiffon draped Chuppah allowing guest views from all angles. The tall Hawaiian Dendrobium Orchid centerpieces that graced the Chuppah corners were created by the floral-geniuses, Botanicals Design Studio. Miniature ceremony programs, created by *yours truly ;] Cosmopolitan Events, allowed guests to simply stick them in their pocket or clutch for keepsake.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed elaborate scotch tastings with a connoisseur from Wine and Cheese Shop and delicious Polish Signature Cocktails called ‘Tatanka’, comprised of Bison Grass Vodka {Zubrowka}, Apple Juice, and Cinnamon. Guests picked up their chartreuse green escort cards displayed on varying heights of glass plateaus which were adorned with white orchids. Meanwhile the inside of the ballroom was being secretly transformed…

When the doors dramatically opened for dinner, the guests were truly in awe of how the room evolved from serene to dramatic! The lighting had gone from soft white to vibrant purple. The chuppah had been reconfigured into an intimate dinner for two with a sweetheart table in the center. Surrounding the newlywed’s table was a mixture of round and square guest tables creating a texturally unique environment. Each table was dressed in different fabric patterns, crushed, pintuck and organza, but remained in the same eggplant hue and was topped with chartreuse and bright white florals. The entire left wing of the ballroom was revamped into a dance and lounge space, complete with a white diamond-shaped dance floor, sheer fabric creating a separation from dinner, sultry purple lighting, white string curtain behind the band, moving club lights, and lounge furniture, all provided by Exclusive Events.

The entire wedding party entered one-by-one to the tunes of “Stronger” by Kanye West with full choreography by the bride and groom. After dinner, the party got started with the dynamic performance of the Ralph Butler Band provided by Talent Plus .

To end the night with a bang, the groom jumped to the drums and with his musical background played along with the band for a few songs.

Guests were sure to leave their wishes and photos in the guest book using a Po-Go instant camera, and took home custom CD favors of Caroline and Matt’s favorite tunes. This wedding was an absolute stunning affair and we were honored to be a part of it! Congratulations Caroline + Matt, and best wishes!

The Cosmopolitan Events Team was thrilled be apart of the celebration of Breanne Wilhelm and Patrick Arminio. The fun-loving couple was married on October 10th with the fantastic Photographer Bobbi Brinkman capturing every special moment.

Upon arrival to their hotels, guests were welcomed to St. Louis with re-usable gift bags, designed and assembled by Cosmopolitan Events, and filled with various local goodies. This fantastic fuschia and black Welcome Party invitation was designed by St. Louis custom stationers, Two Blue Doors, which set the stage for a fun evening of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in anticipation for the big day

The ceremony was held at St. Xavier College Church on the Saint Louis University Campus, the location where Bree & Patrick met while attending Saint Louis University. Their elegant decor was cheerful and modern with a palette of fuschia, lime, and orange. The bridesmaids wore raspberry cocktail dresses and held very colorful, bright bouquets. Breanne looked absolutely stunning holding her white and creme bouquet. After saying their “I-Do’s,” Breanne and Patrick had a memorable and grand exit from the church, beginning with the release of white doves, provided by Amore Doves. Guests waved brightly colored ribbon wands as the bride and groom climbed onto a fairy-tale carriage, provided by Saint Louis Carriage Company, and were then transported to the reception at the Four Seasons Hotel located in Downtown St. Louis.

Cosmopolitan Event’s Wedding Planner, Chasley Bradbury, worked very closely with Mrs. Debbie Wilhelm to make the event beyond special for her daughter and future son-in-law, adding one surprise after another. The first of many was an ice bar replicating the St. Louis Skyline. This contemporary ice bar was complete with the couples new monogram, a drink luge, and colorful fireworks carved inside. The artful bar was created by Ice Visions.

Botaicals Design Studio’s attention to detail throughout the event was nothing less than perfect! Escort Cards were beautifully arranged on a glass plateau suspended above a lush bed of florals. The exquisite centerpieces for each guest table were designed to create a unique silhouette, ranging from towering heights to low and sophisticated. The Head Table was placed on risers and hanging florals and candle light created the perfect backdrop for the honored guests. Guests dined at tables covered in rich orange specialty linens accented with fuschia napkins, gold chargers and chiavari chairs.

The 4-tier cake, created by the Four Seasons, was draped with florals and was accompanied on the dance floor by the Bree and Patrick’s new monogram. Following dinner, the sounds of Lenny Klinger’s Galaxy Band put guests in the mood to hit the dance floor.

Amazing Stationers Two Blue Doors designed much of the papery that tied into the celebration including the invitations, programs, escort cards, place cards, menus, and the couple’s adorable photo booth guest book. Guests received custom bookmarks as a memento of the evening that included their black and white photo strip. A copy of each photo strip was put into the guest book with wishes for the newlyweds.

Perhaps the “sweetest” part of the evening was the tempting Candy Bar, designed by Cosmopolitan Events. The Candy Bar was displayed on a floral glass plateau with a mix of brightly colored candies and custom created crossword puzzles for guests to test their knowledge of the Newlyweds. The puzzles gave clues to Breanne and Patrick’s love story, and were accompanied by pencils saying “Isn’t Love Puzzling?”

The entire day was perfect and the Cosmo Team couldn’t have been more excited to take part in such a special day. Congratulations Breanne and Patrick! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Breanne + Mike’s Color Palette

We are so excited about the design for Breanne + Mike’s wedding to be held at the Westin Saint Louis on 10.24.09! The adorable couple wanted to incorporate colors in a fall color palette, but with a contemporary edge so we created a palette of Burgundy, Crimson, & Plum with accents in Gold and Cremes with a pop of Turquoise. The turquoise inspiration was derived from the photo of the bride’s enagement session, seen in the color palette (yes, that’s her!). We can’t wait to begin working on all of the details!
